In Summer – Lookbook

Hi guys! For this week’s In Summer post, I put together a Lookbook for you. I made a Day Out look that you could wear for a day on the town or to the boardwalk & I also put together a Beach Day look that you could wear, well, to the beach.

Outfit #1: Day Out

For this first outfit, I wanted to make something that would be good for both the boardwalk and a day on the town. Stripes are very summery and nautical, so I started with this H&M t-shirt. These H&M light-wash denim shorts paired nicely with the shirt. I picked out a wide-brimmed hat for this outfit that I love from the Kendall + Kylie collection at Pacsun because I love black floppy hats like this for the summer. These blush-colored sunglasses, which I think are from Forever 21, add a pop of color to this otherwise monotone outfit. Keeping to the blush color scheme, I picked this blush pink butterfly-print backpack from Target and an Essie nail varnish from the Summer 2015 collection in the shade ‘Peach Side Babe’ to accessorize the outfit. As for final details, I included this Alex & Ani butterfly bangle which matches the butterfly them from the bag and a Fujifilm Instax Mini 8 Polaroid camera for capturing all of your summer memories. (Guys, I just realized that I forgot shoes for this outfit, I’m sorry!)

Outfit #2: Beach Day

You know how if you’re staying somewhere (like a hotel) while on vacation and have to have a cover up on so that you’re not just in a bikini on your way to the pool or beach? Shortalls or overalls are your go-to for a functional but stylish cover up because they’re easy to get on and off. This pair from Forever 21 is perfect for getting you down to the beach. An all-black bikini, like this one from H&M, sits nicely with the shortalls because the bikini top is multifunctional and can be styled as a regular crop top for hanging out on the boardwalk after you’re done at the beach. (Basically it’s perfect for the ocean and boardwalk.) Birkenstock sandals are totally trending now and are the best choice of shoes for the beach since they are very easy to slip on & off. Finally, finish off your outfit with this Target backpack to carry all of your beach essentials: a good book (this one is on my summer reading list!), sunglasses, and some bracelets to add some color.

That’s all for this week’s In Summer post, I hope you guys liked it! If you have any other ideas for Lookbook posts please let me know (or tell me if you’re getting tired of them, that’s okay too). Don’t forget to tune in next Wednesday for a new In Summer post, and I’ll take any suggestions you have for future posts in the comments! Thanks for reading, and I’ll talk to you soon!

Love,

Yael

P.S. I hoped to publish this post this morning or this afternoon but I had problems editing it and couldn’t get it up until tonight! Hopefully next week’s post will be published earlier in the day.

Also: Emily wrote a response to my tag post from last week – you should check it out!
