Blogidays #4 – Letter To You

Hey guys! Welcome back to the Blogidays! As I said the other day, I’m super excited to be blogging again. I wasn’t really sure of what to write about for today. I have a few ideas for some posts, but they will probably take some time to get together, so today I’m going to just write.

Last year, I got the idea to do the Blogidays because I was reading Taylor’s blog. On December 1, she published a post about the first day of Blogmas, which I hadn’t heard of before. I read the post, and I was interested in the idea of a daily blogging series. I messaged her about it to see what it was, how it worked, etc. and then decided that the next day I would start it on my blog, but call it the Blogidays instead to include the winter season in general. I tell you this story not so that you have background on how this series was introduced to me and my blog, but because I was looking at her blog today for examples of Blogidays posts that I could do. She had a lot of really great posts last year, and one of them was just about how much she loves writing and blogging, which made me want to write this post.

I felt really bad about not blogging much this year for the longest time. For a good chunk of the year I wasn’t myself because I was just stressed about school and I just was really busy so I hardly posted. Sometimes I just couldn’t find the time to blog or I would start a post and never finish it. Then summer came and I had planned to blog more, but I didn’t get around to that either. After school was out, I was home for about two weeks, and then my family went on a trip to Europe for about three weeks. I didn’t blog about that too much because we didn’t have internet for most of the time (we were on a cruise ship for a good amount of the trip), so I published maybe two posts when I got home and that was it. I started high school in August, and I’ve hardly blogged at all. I really, really wish I blogged more this year, and I’m disappointed in myself for not posting more.

I always wanted to write posts and publish things on here but I just didn’t, and I don’t know why. I wish I had. I love writing, and I love blogging. I missed it a lot when I didn’t do it. There’s just something about using this platform – to talk to you about what I do or how my day was and share photos that I really like – that makes me happy. As you can see, I had planned to blog a lot more than I have this year, and I feel really bad that I didn’t. I really am going to try to use this month to get back to blogging how I used to and really try to get back into blogging more regularly.

Thanks for sticking around, guys. I’m really glad to have you. I love writing this blog for you. In the new year, one of my goals is to write more posts and try new things. At school I had to come up with an independent study project to do. It can be on any topic that interests me, so I’m going to do something with photojournalism. It really interests me because it combines two of my hobbies, writing and photography, so maybe I’ll try that kind of post next year. I don’t know what I’m going to do or how I’m going to do it, but I want to change things up a bit, try new things, and take my blog in a new direction. I know I said that last year, but I think I’m really going to follow through this time.

I didn’t mean to write such a long and deep post, and I should have another wintry/holiday post tomorrow, but I really wanted to share this with you. Thanks for reading, and I’ll see you tomorrow!

Love,

Yael
